Brief Introduction of Haidu college, Laiyang Agricultural University

Haidu College is instituted by Laiyang Agricultural University, and is an independent college approved in June, 2005 by Ministry of Education. Covering 500 mu and with a total floorage of 100,000 square meters, it is located in Laiyang Campus of Laiyang Agricultural University with a total worth of 13 million yuan of equipments, 320 thousand volumes of books in the library and a total assets of 180 million yuan. It offers 6 undergraduate programs and 5 three-year programs, with total 560 students now. In 2006, it is planned that 8 undergraduate programs and 7 three-year programs should be added. It is projected that the total enrollment will reach 10,000 in 2010.

With a full utilization of rich teaching resources of teaching staff and facilities of the school and the accumulated operational experiences of 50 years, this school has established a special-featured mechanism centering on undergraduate programs as its focus and three-year programs as a complement aiming at establishing a quality college and fostering quality applicable talents with lofty morality, solid knowledge and strong operational and adaptive skills.

Under the operational conception of centering on humans, Haidu College has fostered a college spirit of “Learned, quick-minded, active and perfect”, and made three operational strategies of Human-centered cordial service, characteristic teaching and contractual cultivation. It carries out tutorial system all through the academic years, and 3-semester academic year program, credit system and three modes plus three platform program which emphase training of students´thinking, ability, operational skills, character-cultivation, humanism cultivation and the improvement of all-around abilities.

Students who get enough credits within the regulated years shall get our national accredited diplomas. Undergraduates who are qualified for Bachelor degree Requirement shall be conferred Laiyang Agricultural University Bachelor degrees upon the approval of Laiyang Agricultural University Academic Degree Commission. Three-year students who reach standards of 3-year Students Transferring 4-year Undergraduates shall transfer to be 4-year undergraduates according to provincial Education Commission.
